CO Republican:Pro-cycling policies are plot to advance UN control of American cities

Denver Post

I apologise if this is too political, but I thought it's hilarious.

"At first, I thought, 'Gosh, public transportation, what's wrong with that, and what's wrong with people parking their cars and riding their bikes? And what's wrong with incentives for green cars?' But if you do your homework and research, you realize ICLEI is part of a greater strategy to rein in American cities under a United Nations treaty," Maes said.
Um. Yeah...

I struck a blow for FREEDOM yesterday and today...okay, half a blow for FREEDOM...by driving my car to work (I rode home last night and rode in this morning). Nothing says freedom like 3 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic.

It's so surreal that if I had read that without any context, I would have assumed it was simply a satirical article.

I assumed the Denver Post hired one of the Onion's writers.

Sounds like typical Rush Limbaugh "Dittohead" fodder. Afterall, all those sneaky "Chicoms" still ride bicycles in El Rushbo's delusional "reality".
