So, I'm at the local Performance Bike shop the other day (buying some socks) and the clerk asks me to sign a petition. I never sign petitions without reading but I went to look at the organization: https://www.peopleforbikes.org/

Anyone ever hear of this group or know about them? I couldn't figure out what they actually do other than ask people to sign a pledge that basically says "bikes are great".

It seems their goal is to help manufacturers and dealers sell more bikes.

Because the bike industry is packed with power hungry greedy people who don't give a crap about cycling.

I'm having a hard time understanding why this is a bad thing.

Who said it is a bad thing? Better than selling more cars!
