Schuykill River Trail safety?

Has anyone biked this recently? Are they still having incidents near the Norristown section. I know people have been attacked and intimidated over the years.

There was an incident over a year ago and I posted a thread on it at the time. I haven't heard of any similar incidents recently.

Here is the prior thread, which contains some detail about the measures that were taken following the incident in June 2009: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ear-Norristown

My wife and I bike the SRT frequently.

The Norristown area is fairly quiet these days. In early October we saw police checking the area around the playgrounds on either side of the trail.

We have heard no reports of anybody being bothered in that section of the trail this year. My wife and I usually take a rest break in the area of the pole close to the bridge to the South of Haws Ave. While we have gotten some funny looks nobody gave us any trouble. Police will suggest that in that area you simply keep riding and take rest breaks in other areas.
