I suppose you could multiply per mile stats by average speeds to get a rough estimate.
For instance
x5 for walking
x15 for cycling
x45 for driving
Not very scientific, but data collection methods are usually pretty poor in the first place.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
^^^ True about choosing among modes for a fixed distance, and very true about data collection being poor.
Dismissing other factors (parking, rush hour traffic, etc), if it took very long for me to get there, I'm going to choose something quicker because I think that time spent on the commute is lost time. I'd rather be at home or doing more work than just traveling.
My personal situation is unique because it's actually quicker to bike (at least any time before 6 AM or after 9 PM; outside of those hours, traffic is light enough to let a car get its speed advantage). However, if I lived somewhere else and it took an hour just to ride to work, I'd seriously consider driving instead (and if it took an hour to drive, I'd friggin' move closer). Biking half an hour, though, isn't too bad; I could put up with that.

I only wear my helmet when I ride my bike. It just isn't cool to wear it away from the bike.

Nope still here. I think either I need a larger test group or a revised hypothesis.
The human body is pretty resilient and has both the mechanisms to avoid head trauma and can take a significant amount of trauma before life is jeopardized. As long as a person does not suffer from a preexisting condition light impacts are not likely to be fatal.

I never ride with a helmet. I've also never owned one. I tried a few on at Walmart and they were all too small, even the adult sizes. It's like my head was too long. I wouldn't mind owning one, it's just not a big concern for me, so I continue to ride without one. I almost never ride fast and I'm never clipped in. It would be damn near impossible for me to land on my head if I crash. And if I do, I have a skull to protect me anyway. If my skull fails, then well I never really liked living on this earth anyway, so f**k it.
