Which was a big mistake. He was a black belt. Let's just say that the end result was much different than what the bullies thought was going to happen.
Reminds me of a guy I used to know, who was at least in his mid-70s. He was an old guy who walked with a slight stoop, had a permanent bandage on one forearm which related to some historical injury. He looked like a pretty soft target, the kind of guy a mugger would target. Only he was a 4th dan black belt, a karate instructor and grading examiner. I can just picture muggers choosing a soft target and waking up in hospital three days later wondering what happened.

To quote a certain charge card company's motto:

"Priceless."

So the evidence gets in but the jury is instructed that they can only consider this evidence as it relates to credibility.
Seems the jury had NO doubts about the cyclist credibility.

Not if they found him guilty in 15 minutes!

I'd love to see a video of the trial...

The verdict surprised me, as I live in Lexington County. I guess the fact they couldn't introduce the history of the cyclist pulling a gun on a vehicle in another state (and convicted for such) or his other road rage incidents as evidence made this conviction much easier. I guess that's why I'm not a lawyer.
