I got money from the car driver’s insurance!

Wow, I thought this would never happen. I crashed with a car (I was on the bike) in July last year. According to the law, the car’s insurance pays money to both parts, no matter whose fault it was. But did the driver report the accident? Of course not! So I became my own Private Eye and reported the case to his insurance company (after finding out which one it was). And can you believe it: today his insurance company had payed me $388! All of which I lost during the accident of course (taxi, doctor & loss of income), and then the $150 for my suffering. I’m a very, very lucky man!!!

Congratulations! How exactly did you figure out which insurance company it was?

Oh, a long story. First I used whatever facts I had about him to get his ”personal number”, address and stuff. I work extra at a newspaper, so they had all the necessary databases. Then my own insurance company (that couldn’t pay me anything...) told me that there was an organization for ”traffic insurances”, which is what every car is obliged to have. They could finally tell me which insurance company he had when I told them the car’s plate number and exactly when the accident had happened. And when I reported to his insurance company they confirmed that this was the right way to act. It was really a mess at first cause I didn’t know how to act. Now I know for the next time, but I hope it won’t be soon.

Good job, here in the states if you had the license number you have another, means, for to act, here it is illegal to leave the scene of an accident. since that driver did, here he would have some big fines to pay. Here it is a felony.
