Thousands protest across Europe for Bike Safety

thousands took to the streets of Edinburgh, London and Rome on Saturday to protest lack of provisions for bicycle traffic.

“If we take Holland as an example, the majority of people cycle and that’s what we want here,” Suzanne Fogg, a trustee of the London Cycle Campaign, told Britain’s Sky News.

“So many people want to cycle and they just don’t feel safe, so this is about making the streets feel safer and more inviting for cyclists.”

In America they'll kettle and arrest you simply for protesting for constitutional rights. Who knows what they'd do for asking for cyclist rights?

Or some arsehole (or several) will just flatten the crowd of bikes and riders trying to get to the drive-up window.

Evidently all those wimpy Europeans are not 'competent cyclists' or they would simply 'take the lane' like their manly American counterparts.

It looks like the U.K. and Italy have discovered Critical Mass. I suspect it will go over much better there than it has here.

london critical mass rides started in the early '90s....shortly after the original San Francisco rides..... these were apparently organized protests for better road conditions for bicyclists.
