Ok, and if I don't have a GPS phone to alert the texting driver, who shouldn't be texting in the first place. Just more reinforcement to text.

Keep in mind that "Distribution [is] expected to commence on April 1, 2012." Jamesw2 brought up the date as well.

Consider the significance of this date ...

I had an entirely different idea about what this thread might be about based on the title.

Are you sure it wasn't an April Fools Joke?

Sadly it is not. They are actually developing voice recognition texting software. Just the next step in the voice control already in cars now.

It will be funny as hell when I pass a driver and hear "x o x o l o l"

Greyryder 04-14-12 11:29 PM

Voice to text, on a device originally designed for ,and quite capable of voice communication....

I.... I don't think I can even begin to comprehend the confusion of ideas, that's lead us to this point. :twitchy:

Yes, but *this* is a joke. Just because somebody else is working on something sort of similar seriously doesn't mean *this* isn't a joke.

Yes the video is a joke but the concepts are not. Voice to text software, proximity warnings and braking, transmission information that lets you know you are close to someone interested in hooking up, etc.

Reality is closer than some think.
