Are cyclists second-class users of the roadway?

There is any doubt.

Department of Buildings Confirmed No Certificate of Occupancy Issued For Pier 57; Mayor Intervened To Halt DoB From Releasing Further Information; Links Between DoB and HRPT Come To Light

Was that the correct link?

Second class would be a HUGE step up!

I can't see your link, but...

...Of course we're second class! That doesn't mean we should be, must be, or will be, but is there any question in anyone's mind about this? That is why cycling advocacy exists.

When was the last time you saw a group drive for car advocacy? It just doesn't need to be done!

2nd class all the way. I swear I never new what classism felt like (or what racism may feel like) untill I started biking. I had my girlfriend's landlord constantly give me crap cause I biked. It's like he didn't want me in his nice apartments because he thought I was poor. Needless to say I straitened that prick right out, but damn it's tiring to be constantly fighting. I really feel for all of the minorities and new imigrants to America. I think that's one of the good things about biking in this invironment, it gives us a better understanding of the world and people around us. All that said I'd still rather be treated with respect on the roadways.

when i'm riding alone, i'm not even 2nd class

but when i'm in a group i get treated just a little better by motorists - call it second class minus

and on a large group ride, i feel solidly second class

Yeah, I get the same thing. I don't see anything about bicycling. Perhaps they removed the article you saw and re-used the number? (Although that would be a strange thing for them to do...)

In the article below that title, they document that Pier 57 was used to "detain" people, "cyclists", during the RNC. There was no permit,a nd no inspection to determine if the facility was adequate to meet NYC laws or regs covering buildings used by the police to detain people. The Mayor has stopped all release of iinfo, probably because he's fearing civil suits from people being detained in facilities not adequate to meet NYC laws.
