ANSI/ISEA 107 Reflective Vest Standards
Hey,
Does anyone here know about ANSI/ISEA 107 Reflective Vest Standards? I've been looking up \ retro-reflective gear and came across these standards... personally, I found them kind of bogus. Why do they standardize the proper safety vest to be so damn ugly?

This passes ANSI/ISEA Class 3, but this...
this does not. This does not pass any ANSI regulation even though it's completely reflective all around... it just doesn't have tape.
It makes me think these ANSI 107 Standards are just ploys to control government regulations in order protect the market for large reflective tape industries, which makes me question the integrity of ANSI...

Yea, i guess these standards have been around so long that no one has ever stopped to question their validity. 3M is the biggest tape manufacturer out there, so it's no surprise to me that they mandate the usage of tape in "ansi quality" vests. i guess the topic is too boring for anyone to actually read through what they wrote.
