Let's speculate about the effect of such intrusive laws on cycling victims.
This thread is Not about Black Socks....please stay on topic.

As you say in your first sentence, it comes down to choice.

If you WANT to wear reflective vests (and I do, at night) they make some more minimal looking, but still very bright, ones for runners like these:

Nor are bikers forced to wear reflective vests; So what IS this thread about? Other than nonsensical rants and speculation based on one poster's fantasy/job issues.

Nothing like having to wear extra clothing while exercising in hot weather.

Illuminite owes my company 100+k for orders they have yet to back up... As far as I know, they won't be paying it back, but I do find their concepts interesting. Their area reflective fabric isn't nearly as effective/bright/durable, as the fabric we produce, but unfortunately, we can not afford doing business with them anymore.

The bottom line, at last. Now is the time to start agitation/discussion for mandatory wear of your product. Get the ball rolling. Go back 20 years or so to study bicycle helmet marketing techniques.

Surely you know the difference.

I happen to like the belts I brought back from Iraq and Afghanistan on my daily use bikes as shown on attached pictures. Always working, in daylight or in the beam of headlights.

Why did you go all the way to afghanistan to buy those, when they make'em right here in the USA?

I am shocked, shocked, to find that sarcasm is going on in this thread. Lock up the usual suspects!

Of all the places on BF to park this dingy foo-full thread, the moderators chose this one.

IMO it is safe to assume that, as previously pointed out, the OP was misleading and deceiving about a non-existent requirement for cyclists to wear reflective vests for reasons known only to him. Note the OP is now banned from BF.

Yeah, let's create more barriers to entry for cycling...that's the ticket!

I can't imagine wearing a reflective safety vest - I can't imagine why they are thought to be necessary for safety.
