Your comment was off target as myrridin inserted the word 'witness' in a place not included in the article to mislead readers to a wrong conclusion. Too bad you failed to understand that point, and that the woman was not an eyewitness to the actual collision. So in the context of my post, the use of "witness" was NOT too rigid/narrow. Are you implying the woman saw Wiggins with a cell phone in his hand when he was hit? If not, then you should shut up about the subject.

Interesting stuff: while there's no note of helmet use on the part of the cyclist (unlike how it would be reported in the USA), we are made aware that he was hit by a "woman driver."
Usually, I'm just embarrassed about my fellow countrymen in person when out of the country. Now, thanks to "Jonah, USA" I can be embarrassed about a fellow citizen in print outside the country, too.
