Interesting stuff: while there's no note of helmet use on the part of the cyclist (unlike how it would be reported in the USA), we are made aware that he was hit by a "woman driver."

Usually, I'm just embarrassed about my fellow countrymen in person when out of the country. Now, thanks to "Jonah, USA" I can be embarrassed about a fellow citizen in print outside the country, too.

Cheers, Jonah!

How about "local woman." Spins a bit different that way, don't it. Simply a description rather than a pejorative.

Now we don't let those nasty things like facts interfere with our righteous indignation!

Personally, I found this part of the article most interesting, "Wiggins, who reportedly shaved off his ‘lucky’ sideburns just days ago, ..." and She (witness) added: "I think he was on the phone to his wife." So clearly the incident was Mr. Wiggins fault. I suspect the motive was a suicide attempt rather than deal with an irate wife...

Interesting how you claim the woman making the statement
She added: "I think he was on the phone to his wife.
is a "WITNESS" rather than letting everyone know this claim comes from someone making coffee at the time and did not see the collision.

And of course myrridin ASSumes that Wiggins would only be on the phone to his wife while riding, rather than the more likely, Wiggins had called his wife right after he got hit.

Keep trying to blame the cyclist at all cost myrridin.

Y'all noted that the article was updated since I posted, yes? It said "woman driver" on 11/7.

And not so much righteous indignation, as amused observation.

Chill out a bit; maybe go for a ride...

You think I'm out to chill if I'm wandering around on the A&S forum?

It was my wife the neighbors were complaining about driving fast, thinking it was my kids. They got their lead foot (foots?) from her. However, now that she rides, her driving has calmed quite a bit. But call her a "woman driver", even as an amused observation, might earn you a very painful kick in the shin.

You do seem to have some personal issues with me... Guess its a good thing you don't know my actual identity and can't stalk me like you do others that earn your wrath,,,

The women was identified as a witness in the article, regardless of what she was doing. I guess being 10,000 miles away your psychic powers allow you to know more than she does... (P.S. there are things called windows...)

As to your misrepresentation of my statement, I suggest you look up the term sarcasm...

Nice you call it sarcasm after your error is pointed out.

You seem to be the one stalking for any chance to blame cyclist. I simply point out your errors each time. If you stop wrongly blaming cyclist, or making other errors, then I will not have that much to say about your post, will I.

No error on my part, just a lack of perception on yours. From the rest of your diatribe, that is just one of many lacks...

Your the one intentionally misleading people to believe that the "she" mentioned in the article actually witnessed the collision when you added the word 'witness' out of context of the actual article.

The context and sequence of the article makes it clear that this woman was not an actual witness to the collision.

Sorry, but I said she was a witness (but not nescessarily to the collision--I don't know if she was or not (and neither do you), mostly to differentiate her from the driver who hit wiggins. You have made it clear that you have a problem with understanding language (among so many other things) so that may not be clear to you. And again, it was clear to anyone who could understand English that I was neither defending the driver nor accusing Wiggins of being at fault... I was using sarcasm... I suggest that you go back to night school and spend some time learning the basics...

She was making coffee when she HEARD the collision according to the article. And you are not clear if she saw the collision or not? And then you claim I am the one with a problem with understanding language (among so many other things).

Sorry, but a "witness" needs not have seen everything that happens in an accident to be a "witness". He or she may hear an accident, look out the window and perhaps notice the plate number of a hit-and-run driver. See?

Try to catch up hagen. myrridin is trying to place blame for the collision on Wiggins by implying he was on his cell phone talking to his wife while riding. He falsely uses a post collision witness to imply she saw Wiggins talking on the phone to his wife at the time of the collision (of course she only saw his phone use after the collision). Wiggins calling his wife to tell her he had been hit and let her know he was OK is to be expected so she would not learn of the collision through the news first and think the worst.

Your current side track just to harp on me is just as misleading as myrridin has been.

All I was doing was to try to make it clear to you that your use of "witness" was too rigid/narrow. Please continue your *****fight, you two
