Stop signs and little kids on bikes

When you come to a stop sign and there is a little kid on a bike nearby, do you come to a full stop or blow through it if no cars are coming? Not saying that you are in danger of running into the kid, but do you think you are setting a bad example to the kid for not stopping?

I really keep my eye on the child, as I know children often act in a manor incomprehensible to adults. I do not feel its my responsibility to act a a role model for someone else's child - thats the parents job. However, as I believe we have a obligation to a social contract to obey laws, even in lieu of active enforcement. Hence, I stop at stop signs while driving. As a cyclist I slow but may not stop.

I come to a full stop whether there's cars or not, kids or not, cops or not.

I also make full stops at stop signs. If there is a child present, I will do whatever I can to make his/her trip safe and fun; sometimes that means I get to wait a few moments while offering a word of encouragement. That makes my trip more fun.

I do what I always do, and IMO, that is setting the proper example for the kid.

I don't see any kids on bikes around me. Parents are way too overprotective these days.

I've seen a few. If young with their parents.

That is a reasonable precaution for the street I live on and all streets I'm otherwise likely to be on.

What is reasonable caution on one street is being overly cautious elsewhere, sometimes elsewhere very close.

I come to a full stop and do a track stand on my trike. But yes if kids are around at a stop sign or light I make it a point of comming to a full stop or wait for the light to turn green.

I come to a stop more so because I'm paranoid I'll miss something rather than setting an example.

Stop and attempt trackstand. Then pop wheelie when green or my turn to proceed at sign. This is regardless of who or what is watching. If there are traffic cams, I will keep my head down to reduce the likelihood of DHS tracking. My cell phone carrier is [redacted, 18 USC § 798], so the poor coverage hurts their ability to triangulate my location with any degree of accuracy. YOLO.

It would never have occurred to me to come to a full stop in order to be an example for some little kid. In fact, the sight of them (kids, that is) makes me blow through stop signs even faster for fear of hearing the little...darlings...making fun of the fat lady on the bike.
