Bicyclist beaten in Baltimore

Bicyclist Michael Bowman Beaten In Attack Caught On Helmet Cam In Baltimore

There's just some places you don't want to cycle around after dark.

So sad that so many people seem to get pleasure out of violence to others, whether it's cyclists or pedestrians.

The fact is that we taxpayers, more often than not, are forced to support this violent thug culture. Violent thugs should, at the very least, be banned from collecting any form of public assistance for life whenever they're convicted of such offenses.

Amen!!!

I would hope the police could catch these thugs and clap them in jail. I further hope they would get big Ed for a cell mate and he could teach the some love when he makes them his "special" friend.

Moved from 50+ to A&S.

The result of banning violent thugs from public assistance would likely be an increase in the violent behavior to replace their missing income.

So this is a mugging by a small gang of youths, apparently in a bad neighborhood. I'm sure it happens all the time, so what makes it bicycle related except that the victim was on a bicycle at the time?

Is every crime or misfortune that happens to someone who happens to be on a bicycle now fodder for this forum?

I'm not trying to dismiss the OP's misfortune, and am happy to hear it turned out OK (sort of), I just don't see it as bicycle related.

OTOH, maybe it's worthwhile for the helmet thread.

Has been fodder for the Woe is Us Victims crowd of A&S for quite awhile. Often is a catalyst for the same level of incoherent thought as seen in the helmet thread by the same ranter(s).

I figured rydabent could post how people should always wear a helmet when venturing into bad neighborhoods. (bike or no bike) After all this is sort of another "my helmet saved my life" story.

If you're gonna ride through those kind of neighborhoods at night, that's sadly not a joke.

And I doubt the cyclist was targeted because he was a cyclist - there seem to be other cyclists in the video who didn't get assaulted....

Then please stop paying your taxes, stop funding these urban terrorists and let them steal their own salaries!

And because right hooks, left hooks and other collisions happen to motorist and pedestrians too, we should also ignore those things in BFs as well.

There are non-cyclists who are 50+, so let's do away with that sub-forum.

Plus there are non-cyclists who are car free, so let's do away with that sub-forum.

And on and on.
