car-brake commercial
In my country a car-brake company have a TV commercial advertising, in which a man driving a big pickup stop in a corner millimeters before crash a group of cyclists, the driver put a bad face, and a voice in off said “just when you need it…” etc.
I wonder why the producers of the commercial don’t put and old woman with her dog, or a group of school childrens, or other car. May be exists the idea that the bikers are irresponsibles. May be a social stereotype? (My V brakes save me more than twice to be tread down by cars, trucks, buses… cows and horses either) |
Yes, I would say it's a social stereotype, and a common one at that.

I haven't seen the commercial and don't know which brake company, but maybe you should contact them and let them know that not all pick-up truck drivers are knuckle dragging morons like the one in their ad.
