Suntour Power Shift Lever Issue

Hey All! I've got a problem with these Suntour Power Shift levers.

SunTour parts catalog (1976)

When I engage them to shift they ratchet right back into neutral position. every time. Anyone had any similar issues or know how to fix the problem?

Many thanks!

Did you disassemble them? Check to make sure the ratchet or pawl are not reversed. That should be the only thing wrong. Good luck.

There was a duplicate thread in the mechanics' forum and thankfully the problem's been sorted out. Like you seem to have suspected, cs1, the shifters were assembled improperly.

I didn't see that post. But ask me how I figured it out?

I just assumed it was your finely honed mechanical intuition. ;-)
