Just wondering. Figured this was the best post for this.

I've been able to unicycle for a little over a year. Bought my uni off ebay

They sell several types of unicycles at the LBS if frequent the most.

They let me fall off one last time I was in.

I'd like to get one...I'll wait for a sale!

I learned to unicycle last year on a 26 inch Sun I bought from unicycle.com.

I bought the larger one because I'm 6'3", but it goes faster than I want it to. I'd like to try a smaller diameter wheel.

I had one as a kid and got good enough to ride it a mile to school a few times. It was stolen and I couldn't afford to replace it. I just picked one up at a yard sale for 20 bucks last saturday. I can already make it halfway down the block, but I jacked up my back yesterday in a little mountain biking wreck so I'll probaby have to lay off it for a while.

My goal for the summer is to be able to ride my ultimate wheel around the block.
I've had it for too long to keep not being able to ride it worth a damn.
It was much easier when I was a kid and had a 20" uni with a seat.

Unicycle.com sells them. Here's a better pic from their catalog.
They make them in several sizes. 20", 700c and I think 24".

Yeah, mountain unicycling looks awesome...and hard
Sometimes I think it's easier going up hills on a uni than a bike...sorta that slow and steady thing- doesn't time you out as much...

Absolutely! It's the ultimate fixie. My pedal powered collection currently contains a 24" Torker CX, and a 29" Nimbus. They're just for transportation options, I'm not so much a freestyle kind of guy. Although it's a whole lot of fun riding around the baseball park down the street in the middle of a big little league game. "You're supposed to be playing! Don't look at him!", the parents shout. Makes me smile all week.

I'll agree on the uphills. It's the downhills that get me cursing. Let that wheel go too fast, and it's guaranteed faceplant time, and that's at 12-15 mph on the big wheel.

So how did you guys get into unicycling? It's not like every cyclist learns to do it, although cycling is the closest thing its related to? I was just wondering. For me, I could juggle and unicycles just seemed to go with that. And now I can do both. At the same time.

I got into it because someone gave me a copy of Jack Wiley's "The Unicycle Book". A little while latter my wife bought me a 24" unicycle and off I went. I also juggle "devil sticks" but only spent a little time putting the two together so far. I highly recommend Jacks' book as a great way to learn without a lot of falling. I think I only actually fell once or twice. The secret is learning to DISMOUNT (and grab the seat so the uni doesn't crash) instead of fall.

My first unicycle 5 bucks at a garage sale. That was a no brainer for me, it looked like a fun challenge and it was cheap.
