there is an element of "outlaw" involved in the gravity sports i involve myself in, but there is no "heroin sheik." we are very careful to play safe and to get along with the authorities. there is nothing "free thinking" or "non-conformist" about being a pin cushion - there is only junky, or non junky. being an addict means you have no mind at all, only the need for your next fix. i hope that kind of element doesnt work its way into what i do. i would think that if any org wanted to be taken seriously at all by anyone they would not allow that into the org, or at the very least not advertise that its there. fast eddie

it's there in ANY underground society.. look at anything that's been formed by the lower class (lower class not being a bad thing) but drugs are there and always will be.. i used to be heavy into drugs but cleaned up my **** and moved on.. and by categorizing anyone who uses drugs as mindless then that's BROAD spectrum of humanity that would be mindless.. drugs and addictions come in all shapes and sizes and unless ya have been in that boat i wouldn't say anything about it.. also by sayin that's not allowed into a club that would be like sayin i don't wants drunks in my club.. but hey if yer a cool guy ya like to ride and hang out i don't care what ya do in your own time just don't drag me into it is all.. ya dig me?

i dig ya, and i agree to a certain degree. ppl's choices are their own as are the consequences of bad decisions. look at any movement that has been successful, and any movement that has not. successes do not involve drugs. the hippy "movement" for example was a joke thanks to drugs, in the end they changed nothing but music and fashion. the equal rights movement, changed a country, and i dont remember drugs being a part of it. drugs are not automatically associated with the lower class, at least not by me and i didnt make any mention of such a correllation.
i am talking from the perspective a a person in recovery, so i feel very strongly about these things. it has been my observation that anything touched by drug addiction or alcoholism turns to s!!t.
if a "joe-average" person's first exposure to tall bikes, or any "alternative" bike was watching heroin addicts or drunks beating eachother, lighting stuff on fire, then getting arrested, then what will their first and lasting impression be of alt bike culture? i think its a good idea to be a positive representation of something you feel strongly about. how much free thinking or individualism really exists if everyone in said "movement" wears the same uniform? everyone being tatted, peirced, hair died, etc... means everyone looks just as similar to eachother as all the suits in an office building. i say this from the perspective of someone with very long hair, sides and back of my head shaved, and very heavily tatted. fast eddie

i live in kansas city, but i go to oklahoma every memorial day, i hook up with some streetlugers and i ride my gravity bikes.

i wasnt trying to step on any toes with my comments about that video. if those ppl didnt do thing the way they did then they couldnt call themselves outlaws. there is always room for that in any society i think, if for no other reason so that the ppl who conform have something to gauge their "wholesomeness" and "family values" by. if black label werent so exclusive, id probly try to make a road trip to hang with em sometime cuz it looks like theyre having fun with bikes - and at the end of the day that's what its all about for me. in fact some neighborhood kids just dropped off a bunch of stuff they were gonna take to the swap meet so im gonna go rifle through it and see what i can use. im a re-cyclist.

thanks for being patient with my soap box rantng. fast eddie

I think part of what the movie is about is that heroin makes you so ****ed you can't be in a gang of drunken ****ups.
