this is not necessarily an Alt bike but is a homebuild SWB recumbent that I made. In spite of the plastic kitchen chair seat, it is comfortable for short rides... have not taken it on a long one yet.

Looks as if your test photo worked.

I like the re-use of the plastic chair, too!

That thing is both beautiful and frightening. Scary Beautiful and ingenius. I'll have to add it to my list of strange things to build once I get a welder.

Actually when I first started riding it I was a bit taken by how 'twitchy' it steered...but then I remembered when I got on the first SWB that I bought it also felt twitchy...So I began to enjoy the ride, and noticed how comfortable I felt. As I mentioned I have not taken any long rides yet ...and in fact I am putting a center derailer on it to give me some lower gears, maybe turning it into more of a hill climber...
It is made with a regular mountain bike and a kids bike front welded to that.....wish you the best when you get that welder. Mine is a "crackerbox" wire feed 110 amp unit.

I was admiring the very colourful effect contributed by that nice white tyre/purple rim!

Nice one. Is that in fact a fiberglass composite school desk seat?

(After repeated attempts, and failures to successfully link to PhotoBucket, I suspect that the gods of the internet have concluded that I should instead get back to work. Thus they are thwarting me. Very wise, those gods.)

School seat maybe...or kitchen chair,,,this is kinda what it looked like...

I took the legs off and welded metal frame to the frame of bike, the frame 'unbolts' from the plastic so i did not have to worry about melting it.
Since this pic I have repainted the whole thing so it does not look so 'nice'...
