Some of those are hilarious, and some of those are simply excellent ways to use up those spare parts around the house!

Here is a wooden bike I built a few years ago. the only metal parts of the frame - rear dropouts. 3/8" Baltic birch plywood over a Laminated veneer lumber rib in the front.

I like the self fender/mudguard on the rear, which can also be used as a rack! Great concept. How did this come about--school project?

East Hill- The idea for a wood bike started when a friend wanted to build a "bike" for his nephew similar to the Like-a-Bike. That got my wheels turning for creating my own. I used the woodenbike.com site for some reference.

The purpose of the rear rack is to provide stability/strength for mounting the rear wheel. It also help to spread the wood to accept the rear wheel. I partial steamed and bent the wood but it needed more.

One drawback to the double plywood arrangement is people would always be wondering if you didn't just slap plywoon on both sides of your frame. So an arrangement that shows that's all there is would be best from my point of view.
