tail light choices?

Since I have been taking my beach cruiser out when the sun is setting I decided I need to add some lights to it. On my mountain bike I went with some Serfas front and back and love them, but for my beach cruiser I wanted something that looked a little more appropriate. I picked out a bullet headlight and it is currently in the mail to me, but I am stuck trying to either find a taillight that looks slightly retro to match the front bullet headlight, or try to get creative and modify something that is close. I don't have fenders so a fender mounted light is out, and I don't run a generator since battery power is how I like to go, but no remote battery packs. Anyone got any suggestions?

That looks interesting enough, but after some thinking and looking around I would love to get ahold of one of these lights and see if I can put the internals of a generic LED flasher in them:

Only one problem, I can't seem to find a red one. These are usually referred to as a dummy light, and I remember the local hardware stores carrying them before. Might go out today to some places to see, anyone know where I could find such a light?

those almost look like boat and or trailer lights so maybe try a store focusing on boats.

edit: maybe also try throwing this post up in the electronics/gadgets forum. they might have some good advice.

Check out the site I link too above; they have many, many, different lights. Just make sure that if you choose a light it isn't listed as 'sold out'.

Go to a TRUCK SIOP, such as the Pilot Travel Center I have near me. Last night I saw plugin replacement 2" bullet markers in red and amber. Any real stop that has truck parts might have stuff like that...mine also has those off-centered oval shaped "chrome"-ringed ones for Kenworths and other aero models.

Sweet, I'll give that a try in the next few days.

*edit* I just placed a bid on e-Bay for a vintage car tail light assembly that might work for me. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed no one else wants it.

*edit 2* I lost the auction, but I will continue to look around for a vintage car light assembly either online or in person. If I ever find one and make the plans become a reality I will post the finished product.
