Need help with my trash bike.
This isnt really anything special. I just got back to school and started putting a few bikes together out of old parts lying around. Here is an especially ghetto piece...
Copper spraypaint=awesome bike.
But the problem is, My rear wheel isnt exactly the right width, but it fits. Can I just get washers to put on the (axle?) inbetween the dropouts so I can clamp it down?

Yep. Just put the same amount on each side and tighten it up.

You can push the frame together a bit
cold setting
or just fit a longer axle and spacers

The pedal clears, but just barely! I got some washers from the hardware store and it works great! Thanks!

Also, after I put the washers in, I now have a coaster brake. I know that the rear wheel has one on it, but I thought you had to mount the coaster brake to the rear stay.

Just wanted to compliment you on a sharp-lookin', simple , rideable byke. (as I suffer from making them too extreme or rather too absurd so as to be nearly unrideable, i.e. a kids frame made for 16" wheels but with a 3sp, 12" rear wheel ,27" front , no brakes and apehangers: wheelie city!) ANYWAY--
Metallic paint is really cool-For some nifty swirly effects, mix two different metallic colours, one oil-based, the other latex-based--the degree of stirring determines many things about the outcome-the fun is in experimenting with the unknown!
