Handlebar replacement help.
 

I am looking to replace my handlebars on my Skeppshult. I would like to find something with a bit more "old timey" feeling. I thought of buying a mustache bar and flipping it upside down.
I really like the handlebars on the Viva - Vilo bicycle. So that's what inspires me. On my Skeppshult the neck is black. Can that be replaced with a chrome? And Does anyone have any good European online bike shops that carry unique items like special handlebars they can suggest?

As you can see the handlebar is more of a mountain bike style. I would like to have a rounded dove or mustache style. A bit more feminine.

It's hard to tell from the one pic you have up, but handlebars and stems are typically very easy to replace. Usually one allen head bolt to remove the bars, and one to remove the stem. If I were you I would seek out someone you ride with that works on their own equipement. They would know where to get what you're looking for, as well as handling the installation for you. I've ridden most of my life and wrenched the whole time. I can't tell you how many of my friends come to me for repairs and information, and as friends/fellow riders, I've never charged a dime! Sadly I am the only person I know that rides here. I am pretty much a loner and have yet to meet other bike lovers and riders in my area. I thought of Swedish forums but my Swedish is still very poor. I am in school to master the language but I am at a beginner level at the moment. Granted most Swedish folk do however speak really good English so that works well for me so maybe I should start posting in them anyway. I do have a lot of pros and cons as far as meeting new people goes.

It appears to be a traditional headset, (not threadless), in which case an allen wrench, (the hex-sided), would remove the current handlebars and probably the same one to remove the stem. There appears to be a cap at the top of the stem. If you remove the cap you should see an allen bolt. If so, you can remove the stem simply by loosening the bolt. If it is threadless, well, I'm pretty old-school, and haven't worked on one yet so I can't really help, but I'm sure someone will come forward to assist!!

I have removed the stem to take off and on the basket by removing the cap and using the tools that came with the bike originally. I plan on replacing it with a front carrier rack and an old wine crate instead, the same rack that Kronan sells.

yep!! that'll loosen them so they can be removed and replaced with the new ones, when you find'em. Shifters, brakes, and grips etc. should be easily removed, cables intact, by loosening the binding nut/bolt and mounting them on the new bars, (just slide'em on and off). Sounds like it should be a piece of cake with what tool(s) you have! Again, Good Luck!!
