this one has me stumped.
first off does anyone know what these are actually called.
and if so has anyone seen the instructions on actually making one. My mom wants one for a few parades she is going to be in. In retrospect I think coming across the bottom bracket might be the only hard part. but i would love as much help as I could get.

Even if you could build a functional version of one of those (you could for all I know, but the originals are non-working sculptures) it would be almost impossible to ride. The blades spinning above, with what looks like a 2:1 gear ratio, would make the unicycle want to spin in the opposite direction. And make it crazy top-heavy.
And no, before someone asks, you'd never get going fast enough for the blades to provide enough lift to help keep you upright.

their are rideable versions, i have seen them in a tweed ride video but i forgot where. The blades don't provide lift they are not tilted they are flat, they just spin I think the ridable version may have only had 4 blades.
and it isnt 2:1 there is a smaller gear inside the rear top cog before it connects to the top drive shaft. it isnt fast, it is just an art piece

I think it would be called an Art Unicycle.
I think you'd have to make it yourself. and probably the easiest thing to do would be to get a standard Unicycle and weld on a tube to hold the propeller.
Or maybe you could talk Atomic Zombie into figuring out a set of plans for it and buy them from him.
+1 on the parade biking. I have a Giant Stiletto that I use just for parades.

I can see someone spending hours building one of those and smashing it to bits with a UPD in the first 10 second of trying to ride it.

maybe if you made something more like a penny farthing?
really i have no idea of how something like that would work, but i'm thinking a small wheel in back would help with stability. maybe go as small as possible with if you want to keep it looking more like a unicycle. like use a big inline skate wheel for the "farthing".

nice design....i guess if a unicyclist says it would work, then should'nt be too hard.
seat looks too far back compared to a unicycle, surely you'd have to get that one leaning forwards to get seat over axle ?
and the rotors, easy, just some light material, even a thin foam would do, would get flung out as it spins.
keep us updated, looks like an interesting build !
