The long-suffering wife, ( who knows how to do these things online ) ordered me a green Mongoose Beast yesterday . I think it will be a lot easier than the other bikes to ride in the soft sand. I have been researching the common assembly finds and trying not to get carried away by the tons of upgrades some are doing. < yet, lol > tom

I'm having trouble telling from this picture and the one on Walmart's site: what kind of stem/headset does it have, threadless or threaded?

Its a Bontrager, most Police Dept. use them on their bikes. VERY comfy.

OK, does anyone else have a problem with the rear wheel? No matter what I do the tire touches either the chain or the seat stay...

A year later and I ordered a Framed Minnesota 1. $800, comes with a spare wheel set in 29er size. Disk brakes and 1x9. wont know if it is a good deal or not for another two weeks. Still keeping the walgoose as a parade cruiser and shop bike, the origin 8 basket has turned out to be great for hardware store runs just to get a box of screws or one more tube of glue. Just want a little more gear range for my old man legs when on the trails. I'll update when I get a ride in.

I did some clean up. FYI all forum sales must be conducted in the Marketplace. Absolutely no sales are allowed in the regular forums.

been riding the minnesota 1.0 the last few days with the fatties, vee rubber missions. lighter, better steering and a 9-speed. love it for the hills and handling. rides like a mountain bike and not a bouncy beach cruiser.
