the iron horse is spec'd better, but i feel like specialized is better company, and makes better frames. if you are looking to upgrade over time the hardrock frame is a pretty decent frame to do so with. i dunno, it comes down to whichever bike feels better. get on and ride them both.

First you wanted a $300 bike, then a $600 bike, then a $500 kona, then a trek 4500, then a fuji and then an '06 specialized rockhopper. Dude you have set a record for posts saying "please tell me what type of bike I want". Go to a bike shop and ride some freaking bikes, quit coming on here posting this bullcrap. I understand you want to buy a good bike and get a fair price on it but you ask the same question over and over and over......
Here is the best advice you will ever get: Go to your lbs and ride some bikes, take notes and get prices. Leave the lbs and think about which one you liked the best. Next do some research and find answers to your questions. Narrow your choices down and decide on a bike that you want. Third go back and buy your spanking new bicycle and be happy. Then come on here and ask us if you made the right decision, JUST KIDDING. Good luck to you.
