Shock top-out

I just purchased a new bike with front susnpension. I've found that the shock rebound damping is set way too low and they come back with a loud 'clunk' after even small hits. I will not be able to get into the shop before the next ride, however, and I'm wondering if this is doing damage to the shocks. Is it still okay to ride with the shocks in this condition?

Also: The bike understeers quite a bit. Is the low rebound damping part of the cause?

Thanks.

So far its quite nice, except for the shock settings. I thank the local shop for being dilligent and checking this before giving it to me.

It should be ok for another ride.Sounds like the spring topping out. I'd let em' look at it at your LBS.As far as understeer, I can't help ya there.
