survey- please take a moment.
hi guys, im a high school business student, and i have to create an imaginary business, though it needs to be feasible, and since i bike a lot, i decided to do a bike service shop, and now i need to do market research.
so please take a minute and answer these questions.
1.) how much are you willing to pay for a tune-up?
2.) how much are you willing to pay for a full overhaul? (bearings, chains, cables, brake pads, etc.)
3.) how much are you willing to pay for a replacement of a small part, such as brake pad, brake lever, pedal, etc.
4.) how much are you willing to pay for a replacement of a large part, such as a fork, shocks, frame, etc.
thanks a lot, i really appreciate this.
oh and please provide the currency you are using.
thank you all very much.

Ok for me, I don't pay for labour, I do it myself. All my prices are based on part cost only.

2. $60 for everything in #1, plus parts. $100 if it includes hydraulic brake bleeding. Most bearing assemblies on mtn bikes are "sealed" and don't use cup and cone bearings, so there's not much to do there
3. $0 for anything that just bolts on [i.e. pedals], $10 for a seatpost, $10 for a handlebar, $0 for a stem, $5 for a cassette, $10 for rim brake pads, $5 for disc brake pads
4. Fork replacement - $25, and that includes star nut, crown race and brake install. Rear shock - $10, $15 if it requires some weird adjustment. Frame/full build - $hourly rate, or free if the customer is buying the frame and parts from my shop. A build can take as little as 1 hour for a basic setup [i.e. HS is already in the frame and the steerer doesn't need cutting], or quite a lot longer if the BB shell and headtube need to be faced, brake lines cut down, etc.
CDN $
The only things I would personally pay for would be a complete fork teardown and a hydraulic brake bleed. Everything else I do myself.
