what chain lube do you use?
I have had bad experiences with drive chain maintenance in the past so...just wondering wha tu guys are doing after each ride and what lube u guys use
I'm thinking about getting into Rock N Roll Extreme Chain Lube. what do u guys think? - degreaser/lube in one.

I use the Tri-flow as well. I have one bottle for dry, one bottle for wet conditions. I lube every ride and clean the chain every couple of rides depending on what it looks like.

I picked up a bottle of Pedro's Syn Lube. I haven't ever lubed the chain on my Giant and I've put about 20 hours of off road riding on it :-( I didn't know what to use, I always use to use WD-40, but I new that wasn't going to be good enough for the Giant. Anyway, I'm going to clean and lube my chain tomorrow. I'm excited

Lubing the chain is less about what you put on and more about letting it penitrate then wiping clean.

i use a DuPont Teflon drylube, penetrates and leaves no wet ness and doesn't attract dirt

I use a light amount of gun oil. CLP for cleaner conditions, and Hoppes, Remington oil, or soy based lube for trail riding. Its cheaper than bike specific products, yet it works every bit as well.
One very important note. Never use WD40 as a lubricant. WD40 is a degreaser, and it serves as an abrasive when metal contacts metal. Always use proper lubricant on metal on metal contact surfaces.

rock n roll lube extreme is the best... you can always find it at one of your "hole in the wall" lbs'... shops like performance and the like dont seem to carry the more or less underground stuff

i purchased prolink and rock n roll from beyondbikes.
it seems like rock n roll isnt more popular because you burn through the stuff a lot faster (you have to basically semi-soak your chain in it)
my regimen is going to be wipe and lube, wipe and lube. clean chain maybe once a month.

If you want to keep a chain in good condition- then keep it clean. Special chain cleaning tools are around and they work. After cleaning the chain and washing off the cleaner with water- I use a water repellant oil, like WD40 to get rid of the water. Give it a couple of hours and then lube with your favourite oil.
On the oils-- Pedro's. Syn lube if it is going to be a wet ride or Dry lube if it is going to be dry and dusty. Then if you are on a longer ride- Lube again after about 50 miles.

I use Silkolene chain lube. Its gets to be too much having MTB lube Dirt bike lube, etc.

I have a couple bottles of triflow that I use on my chain which I used to use on bearings for my skateboard. Wasn't sure if people used it for chains or not, now I know.

I use progold after a ride si its dry before the next ride. I used to do it before a ride but someone( I think A2) told me to do it after to give more drying time

I use Pro Link, it is supposed to help keep the chain clean as well as lube it. I guess it works okay, haven't had any chain or drivetrain issues.

it's freakin hot when it is hot and the tropical rain can be very nasty here. when it is dry, i normally use finishline usa teflon dry as base and just apply finishline cross country lube on top of it. the chains get a lot more dirtier coz dirts tend to stick to it. but it works great!

my kids use a wipperman stainless steel chain, and lub with finishline or white lightening - depending upon conditions. The extra $$ for the chain is well worth it!
