Any good small video cameras to mount on bike?

I'm looking for two diff. options (both digital):

1. Video camera that mounts on bike and records for later upload to a computer
2. Wireless one that can stream live to internet

Both, i'd assume would need some ability to manage shaking.

Anything out there?

Search 'ATC-1000', or 'Oregon Scientific' on BF and the net for a low cost self-storage option. I have the rev.1 model.

I will be happy to provide more details later on

I've begun looking for something similar recently. If you are not in mind to piece your own together from components, the below two pieces are self-contained, although the high performance one is probably ten times as expensive as the low cost one, I haven't really bracketed the optimum costs yet to say for sure.

Search on "SUV-Cam by Elmo" for a higher performing CCD system at elmo.co.jp
Seach on "Flip Video" for a lower cost CMOS system at theFlip.com

I mounted a cheap Target video camera to helmet and made a few vids. The camera can be found at your local target for about $100. It shoots 30 minutes of video at a fairly good resolution. Here's a link

Let me know if you'd like to see some videos

Maybe I missed something when reading the ATC-1000 instrcution manual but how long can this unit record at one time? How many mins 640x480 , 320x240 and also 160x120 video can it record at one on a 1gb card?

Also how long is the buffer once the recording is done and processing before you can take another video? Can I record continiously on a 1gb card till the card is fille dup? Can I combine the 32mb with the 1gb for recording? Meaning if the 32mb fills up it'll automaticall ygo tot he 1gb?

Thanks. I've a few more question butI forgot them right now so I'll just go withthis for now.

ATC-1000 with 1GB card will get you ~1hr on a sunny day. On overcast or dim time (low contrast) more.

Can not combine memory. I haven't timed between recordings. It is around a couple seconds.

A hard blow to the unit will cause all that has been recorded to be lost (corrupted video file)

Mounted to handlebar using mount that comes with camera.

As to quality note that some are under unfavorable conditions (rain, excess heat) some the lens is grimy and all have been first recompressed heavily and downsized, the uploaded to youtube which compresseses again and upsizes too. Not that the quality is that good, just that what you see in videos is worse than out of clean camera.

Please do not comment on content of any videos in this thread.
