So it's still rideable up there but the water coolers are empty.
Is there a source of water in the (deer creek canyon, high grade, turkey creek canyon etc.) area?
Thanks,
Brian

There's usually water there??? I dunno... two bottles was enough to get me to Evergreen, where I bought water.

If you keep going down that road to 285, there are some retail places close by.

Did you ride it during the week?? I know the coolers are full on the weekend.
Oh be careful riding that road, a group of us total of 6 riders got flats cause the locals put "tacks" on the road to keep the cyclists off the road. I was the only one magically not to get a flat. Some of my friends had flats in both tires.

more on the tacks
the follwoing was posted on Denver Bike Touring Club web site Sept 23
This morning
Right as the climb was starting and the first bike lane appeared I
noticed a bunch of very small nails in the road. These nails were
black and no more than a 1/4 inch long. Just the right size to put
holes in the bike tire. I believe that these were there
intentionally. The reason that I am saying this is that they were
only in the bike lane and they were concentrated within a 4 to 5 foot
area. I easily picked up close to 100 of these nails. I know for a
fact that they caused many punctures since I saw numerous people on
the climb today changing flats. There were 5 people that I asked and
they all had small black nails in their tires. These were the same
nails that I saw at the bottom.

I vowed not to ride High Grade Road again for that reason!!! I was pissed when my friends had to change not one tire but TWO tires.

you stop riding, they win.
To comment on the original topic, I ride on weekdays, but have had water for the past few weeks. I went this tuesday (oct 2) and the coolers were both empty. I seem to remember reading something about them being stocked until october.
I suppose i'll look into evergreen. My route generally turns right at that neighborhood after the school and sends me back toward Chatfield
