Handle Bar Bags ... ???

I need to find a large, maybe even an extra large, handle bar bag for my Electra Townie. Any suggestions? I'd like something with a flat top, so I can somehow attach my maps.

I've been eyeing the smaller version, but this could be an option.

You can get this one. I got a smaller one for commuting and someday light touring.

Handlebar Bag - Headlamp

I just realized that some handlebar bags will block my headlamp ... So I need a handlebar bag that will be no more than four inches above the handlebars. I have an extension, which raises the light up about five inches.

Are there options for installing the handlebar bags so they will hang below the bar instead?

Mount the light(s) under the bag with a Topeak BarXtender.

Topeak BarXtender ...

I just bought the Topeak BarXtender several days ago! I have it adjusted so my headlamp sits above my small handlebar bag. Works great, but I notice that the larger handlebar bags will sit up too high, and block the light.

Would the Topeak BarXtender be long enough to turn the headlamp around, underneath a larger handlebar bag?

It should be. If you get that Jandd bag, you can tilt the angle of the bag up or down on the (QRB) quick release bracket.

I have the largest Acorn handlebar bag; it hangs down from the bar and does not block my light. But, you have to stand in line to get them. They only take orders once a month. If you get your order in, you will get it within a month.

Could you post some pictures showing exactly how you attach the Acorn handlebar bag? Also, just how much weight would be safe to carry in a handlebar bag on my Electra Townie? How secure is the Acorn bag, and how easy to remove, so someone can't steal the bag?

Check out the Arkel bags. Mine is the smaller one, but it rises only and inch or two (at most) aove the top of the bars.
