Bianchi Via Nirone, good deal?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bianchi Via Nirone, good deal?

I'm new to biking and I already have a lower end road bike. I'm looking to buy a road bike for recreational use that will last quite some time. I really like the Bianchi Via Nirone Sora, but have no clue where I can buy it and for what price I should buy it for. Anyone know any bike shops in Minnesota (minnepolis area) that sells this for a good deal?

For some reason, the MSRP is always lower than what they sell in stores... I don't know why!

The stores need to make a profit - they do this by raising the prices a bit.
Also, a store can HELP you - you can talk to salespeople, try the bikes, get fitted, etc.

How much are they asking for the bike you are looking at?

Before settling on a bike it would be best to go to your bike store to see what products they have. You need to sit on and ride a few to see how they feel.

I live in the Twin Cities and am looking for Via Nirone too. Go to the Bianchi website and and locate dealers in the area. I have found Hollywood Cycles, County Cycles and Grand Performance to be very helpful.

Good luck and tell me if you find any sweet deals! I need a 59cm!

If you already have a lower end bike, I don't think the Bianchi Via Nirone Sora is a significant upgrade. The frame might be fine, but the parts are low end.

Bianchi!

So i just bought a Bianchi from Grand Performance. Granted that I paid 1000 for a 08 Via Nirone Tiagra, it was worth it! I figure it'll be a good investment for my health and transportation!

I found some really good deals at a dealer in st. cloud - Granite City Cycle. A guy named Fred works there and had a few Nirone's on sale! One was 600! (but it was a 53cm), you should email him and ask him if he still has any left! --> wakemills@hotmail.com.

Good luck finding a Bianchi!

I live in the Twin Cities area too, I got a 105 Bianchi Via Nirone for $850, but that shop must've been clearing them out. GP seems to always have them, so does Hoigaards, and Minnetonka Cycle and Ski is really helpful. I like mine, it's a good bike for the type of riding around here. I even biked it up to Duluth last summer and I race it all the time.

If you really need to, Jensonusa.com always has a good price on them.

try not to throw around folks' email addresses straight up like that - spiders crawl the web harvesting stuff like that for the spam merchants of the world. try something like

"wakemills at hotmail com" or even leave off the com or something... don't know if they're still defeated by the "at" for "@" trick(s)...

That is encouraging to hear. I hopefully will pick mine up tomorrow, just in time for the 30 degree weather and snow...
