HB-M730-F dims?
Anybody have an authoritative set of wheel building dimensions for the old Shimano Deore XT M730 front hub? My internet research has turned up squat. Spoke hole circle diameters and center-flange lengths would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
matt

If you have the hub in hand you can measure it yourself.
shimano hubs that are not disc hubs seem to be 38mm flange dia. and 35.8mm center to flange.

That's what Spocalc says. Shimano's been pretty consistent with spoke flange diameter and spacing since the '70's. I think you could plug in the dimensions for any Shimano low-flange front hub and come out withing 0.5 millimeters.

thanks for your input everybody. I'll confirm the numbers myself with a caliper eventually. But I don't presently have the hub in hand, so measuring isn't currently an option. Spocalc seems to be deficient on that one particular older model.

Hmmm... my version of Spocalc lists "Shimano XT-II, DX" . I'm 99% certain that that's a HB-M730. It's also the same dimensions as these hubs: 105 HB-5501, 105SC HB-1055-F, 400CX HB-C400, 600 Ultegra HB-6400, 700CX HB-C700, Acera HB-M290, Deore HB-M530, Deore LX HB-M563, HB-M564, HB-M570, Deore XT HB-M737, HB-M738, and XT HB-M751. Take your pick.

indeed you're right. the dimensions are the same for all of those front hubs. it's likely that those are the actual numbers. i'll check back in with confirmation when i actually get the chance to measure; but for now, i feel better about the 38mm/35.8mm dimensions being correct for what i want to do. thanks
