Specialized Frame warranty
I have a 2009 Specialized Roubaix. I am the 2nd owner. I am having issues with the right (drive) side BB30 bearing no longer being an interference fit (it basically will fall out of the BB when you remove the crank...or come out with the crank) and causing reoccuring creaking issues, even after Loctite.
I have read that loose fitting BB30 bearings are valid reasons to warranty a frame, however, being the 2nd owner, per the written Spec warranty policy I would be out of luck.
Just would like to hear if anyone has been able to warranty a frame if they are not the original purchaser?

Bikes: I never learned to ride a bike. It is my deepest shame.

You have no warranty or recourse.
However, bring the bike in to a specialized shop and ask. Perhaps don't... er... don't volunteer the information that you bought the bike second hand and see how it plays out. Maybe this was a common fault with those fames and warrantee claims will be fast-tracked. You never know. If you are a good friend of the shop they might perhaps tell a little fib to the Specialized warrantee dept., but that would be unusual and I certainly would not expect that from any shop if I were you.
If they ask, though, you should tell them it is second hand.
Like I said - You never know! It doesn't hurt to ask.

As LarDasse74 posted, officially you have no warranty claim which is why I won't buy a used frame with a "lifetime warranty" unless the cost is very low or I know the original buyer well enough that he would act as the claimant if there is a problem.
That said, manufacturers with a known defect will sometimes have a "silent warranty" that they will honor if you complain but they don't publicize it. Again, it doesn't hurt to ask!
