Faggin frame indentification

I bought a Faggin frame and fork today. It is in very good condition. No dents, straight frame, straight fork, the paint in in decent condition. On the bottom bracket the number 56 with a U under it is the only identifying number I could find.
How can I begin to find a date for this frame? What would this frame sell for?

Thanks
ARed

Never saw a pink one. Yours is exactly how I envision mine. Looks good. Late 80's I think. How do you plan to build it?

I am not sure that I am going to keep it as I already own a very nice Faggin. I am suspecting that this is an earlier model. Maybe even 70s. Just guessing.

The rear axle spacing would tell you something.

Other than the color it looks a lot like mine, which the components date to '89. The markings on the bottom bracket on mine are 250 C on the drive side and the size 58 on the other. It's possible the C could be a O.

It has Gipiemme drops. I believe the spacing is 126 cm.

Does your fork have a molded crown or is it smooth? This one has a molded crown that is semi sloping

I'd buy it as long as he meant fatal to the frame and not the rider.

So would the color of this very good frame be enough for some of you not to own this top of the line frame. It is possible that there are a lot of people who do not own a bike of this caliber.

I still am no closer to finding out any information on this bike.

This would be an awsome re-paint.

Why are you so intent on finding out the exact year if you're not building it up? Just curious

Do you think the pink is original?

I think I understand what you are saying, I do not need to know the exact year I am just investigating the history of the frame. From what Ive read pink was a common color. I do not believe this is a repaint but the decals all have edge wear as though they were not clear coated.

I dig it the most. I have a "thing" for pink bikes. Hell, any flamboyant colored bikes. I'd take it off your hands if the price was right.

I believe the model of this bike is "Campione del Mondo". I have the exact bike apart from the pink coat (mine is solid black). My Faggin is still being refurbished, and I am greatly looking forward to riding it after reading many acclaims about this frame.
