My first Peugeot, & I think it's a good one

Pictures to follow. I've looked through a couple catalogs, but haven't run across the exact paint scheme. Of couirse it's much more fun to let you guys tell me

The front wheel is not a match, and the front derailleur has been replaced, so I do have a couple of things to look/trade for.

The stem and seatpost are loose, everything spins. I really think it's rideable as is, but I'll disassemble it anyway.

Also has a "Hand Brazed - Brase a la Main" decal opposite the "Super Competition".

SN is B2038034

It's just another UO8...

Nice find. It looks like this might be it. 1981 PXN10. I really like the color.

Nice bike. Looks like a good ride and 531 is a real plus.
I was never a big fan of Peugeot until lately. I guess getting the PH 10 and the UO 8 changed my mind.

I had kind of narrowed it down to that '80-'82 era based on the decals and headbadge, thanks to mjim's website.

I was curious about the Simplex seatpost and Spidel brakes.
Are my Spidel brakes made by Mafac, and the same as the LS2s? I guess it's time to hit velobase.

Edit: My Spidel's share some details with the model LS, but vb doesn't have a picture of the LS2s.

Yes they are made by MAFAC. I too have the Spidel versions on my Peugeot PSV and Vitus Carbone bikes I'm confused myself on which one is the LS and LS2.
I have the Spidel version.....

...........and I just call them LS model Spidels there was no Spidel version of the more angular one without the cable micro adjuster on the quick release.

Mine look like yours, not the angular LS (on vb) - except
I don't have barrel adjusters, as mine are on the Mafac lever.
Interesting attachment method on those, as the center bolt screws in from the back. Not recessed mount, although they look like it; but not exactly nutted either.

And the bike's in pieces for cleaning now.

Very nice.
The PXN10 was one of my dream rides in the early 80's. Great find.

I haven't measured, but the headset has a flat keyed washer, so I'm leaning French. The tubing is metric (26mm TT, 28mm ST,DT), the seatpost 26.4mm, and the adjustable cup is French/Swiss 35x1. I did not attempt to remove the fixed cup, as it appears to be in good shape; so I can't assist in the Swiss/French dilemma.
