If you have X9 you hve probably experienced this more than once! ive never seen RD's self implode like that X9 Rubbish. the shifters also feel cheap and nasty /rant IMHO for XC you cant beat shimano rapid rise with dual control. i was very sus of it when i 1st heard about it but riding it is just sublime. for all the bad press it copped, there must have been a lot of HUXRZ that thought they would give it a go. either that or the campy elite finally found somthing else to nail on shimano. for downhill however, somthing like traditional rapid fire or SRAM would probably be the way to go. Id be surprised if the XTR is any mroe than it currently is. they are trying to get back market share, and they cant do that with higher prices. |
I love how so many of the comments on the Ladis threads are "it must be a false positive"...."we need to wait for the B sample" etc but Landis himself has said that he doesn't hold much hope on thee B sample showing any different :D
Goorrrnnn!! |
How about Koffee's proffession of faith!? Man that girls living in denial.

I just knew I could find some humor and restraint here in TAT land,
of course I knew that you miscreants would be taking the piss outta the poor seppo's (note the clever way I've distanced myself from them). as for the landis as golden boy etc. jaysus would you look at the state of US sport? football (not the US or Aussie rules) puhleez, the fact that we even got invited to the world cup is a wonder to me, and we did so well. Rugby? there are a few scrums here in the states but they are mostly populated by embassy workers around washington dc. Cricket? thats a bug. . . We've got to hang onto something and well what else is there ? Personally, I'm sick of the extreme attitudes, "he couldn't have because. . ." and the "they all do you . . . he's guilty hang em." can't people just discuss it rationally? that's my rant, and the fact that a really good tour is tainted, whether he's guilty or not. for what it's worth Flandis doesn't believe the B sample will be any different. For every case of T/E ratio positive CAS has ruled in favor of the cyclist, that 100% which makes the test pretty useless. still I love the sport, warts and all (to quote one Atmo aka e-RICHIE). marty |

no, My XT is 06 with the external bearing BB.
if you want the 05/06 XTR that badly then why not get it? worst comes to worst you can probably Ebay it or sell them on farkin.net and get back the difference. its a horn bit of kit and id have them if it wasnt for the chain ring. :: edit:: phantom has X0 shifters for 249 and X0 rear der for 239 which i think is stupidly cheap? they did have a good deal on XTR cranks for a while as well. |

I was thinking that fury on his face crossing the line was frightening. It sure makes sense.
Doesn't sound like he'll get banned necessarily. From cyclingnews- 'Some riders can prove that they have an elevated Testosterone/Epitestosterone (T:E) level, if they undergo an endocrine test performed by a credible doctor. Landis said he will use Spanish doctor Luis Hernández, who has helped other riders prove a high T:E count. "In hundreds of cases, no one's ever lost one," Landis told SI. In 1999, Colombian rider Santiago Botero was able to prove his elevated testosterone levels (over four times the allowed limit) were natural. His doctor at the time was Kelme's Dr Eufemiano Fuentes' |
Heh heh heh....check out my comment on that thread. I've thown a 'sense of humour barometer' in there to see what happens.

so whats worse somone that tests positive and takes their ban like a man, or somone who tests positive then gets off on a loophole?
either way, As far as im concerned, if your over the limit, your over the limit, regardless of the means. |

Hitchy also chimed in on post #1006 with a similar scenario, but using a different E scale (and there are plenty of variants out there). |

either way, As far as im concerned, if your over the limit, your over the limit, regardless of the means. Doubt Millar had much fun training on the Dole. |
So if anyone in Sydney's at a loss for what to do this evening, there's a bunch of bands on at the Mandarin Club in town. SEWEL SIDER, UNIT, EL DUENDE, BLACKSHAW and LEFT ARM OVER.
We're on at 9. If anyone wants to come, PM me for a cheaper ticket. On again at Tailor's on Central next Thursday. And the big one Friday the 11th August at Ruby Rabbit. That'd be the pick of the litter. |
What sort of musak? I mean, I'm in Melbs so I ain't comin', but I'm curious.
Plus, Nev is in Captain Spalding, so.... :D |
NEV'S IN CAPTAIN SPALDING!!!! OMFG!!!!! NEV I WANT YOUR BABY! :D
