Help Anyone Recognize Frame?
1 Attachment(s)
This was donated, yes it came with the horrible paint jobs (4 different color coats). I can not figure out who made this frame Style. I have never seem so Many Curves only Stem and Seat Post are Straight.
Much Thanks, brother Kurt |
No clue. Sorry.

I suspect it has been bent and no longer looks stock. If you put wheels in it the crank arms would hit the ground. It is possible it is a factory frame but I have my doubts. Roger

it looks like a "sex change" bike. the top tube looks like it has the same curve as the down tube, where it was cut off and turned upside down to make it a mens bike. what do the top tube welds look like (like do they match the look of the other bike welds)? is there a spot part way up on the seat tube where it looks like a tube was cut off (maybe some paint remover, not a grinder, to see)?

I have a feeling that Philphine's assumption is close to truth except I wouldn't be surprised if it was a factory job... a "custom" offering meant to use up excess or old stock or maybe just be a novelty. You just never know with factories that mass produce frames for various bicycle companies.

Much Thanks, brother Kurt Have access to Sand Blasting and broke down Bike and have more information. Removed some of the 5 layers Paint from Bottom of BB Shell, Seat Tube Front, Seat Tube Sides, Chain Stay Sides, and Front of Headset. Original color is a Pearl Tan / Caramel Color. On Front Seat Tube (upper middle) and on Headset (middle) lightly stamped "BSB" ("S" larger) inside a Square standing on Point, Size about 5/8" 16mm x 5/8" 16mm. Serial Number on Top of Headset L0405157BB. Removed Handle Bar Stem (Had manufacturing date 0f 2004/05), Front Fork (Bearings Good), Removed Crank (Dried Lube and Bearings Bad). Inspect Weld Points all are good but definitely done by Hand. After Sand blasting I will post updated Picture. Thank you for your comments they are appreciated. After Sand Blasting will Post updated Picture. |
