Jaguar Bike??

Hey everyone... Saw this bike listed locally.. Guy wants $40... Needs a seat and chain he says but I also don't see any rear brake? Lol... Looks like there is places in the frame for a rear brake cable is I am not mistaken... Has anyone heard of this bike before ?? I researched it and really couldn't find anything .. I'm looking for a more mellow slow cruiser for mellow riding days... Thanks https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8bf2417932.jpg

Modern imported Schwinn named after a bike built in the 1950s/60s. Looks like it has mounts for V brakes. Sold by Pacific Cycle in the 2000s. Roger

V brake for sure in front, since it is there.
I have NO idea what those lugs in back are for.
They are NOT for a brake. They are WAY too high for that. Every V Brake/Cantilever brake post I've ever seen has been below the rim.

Was Pacific still using U brakes when this bike was sold? They had the lugs mounted high like that. Roger

When you pay $40 for the bike, then say $20 for a cheap saddle, then $10 for a chain and another $20 for cheap rear brake + cable + lever, you're looking at ~$100 for the whole bike in working order. You could probably get the same bike today brand new at a big box store for about that and not have to hunt down the other parts yourself. Not a deal I'd go for, myself.

II don't see any shifters or derailuers so it got even more expensive. Roger
