I did it
I ordered myself an Electra 7d Lux Fat Tire bike in matte Titanium.
This is my third bike in a little over a month. Each will have their place in when I’ll ride them . Each one will be special purpose bikes with some overlap .
i couldn’t stand not having one . It came down to this or a Mongoose and I’d read so much about how everybody swaps out most the components on the Mongoose, I’d come out ahead buying the Electra from a bike shop .
Trek Has put the matte Titanium on closeout and it doesn’t even show on the Electra site anymore .
I feel bad because I haven’t even picked up my Specialized Roll yet .
But I sold my Mustang Convertible and decided it was cheaper to collect cruiser bikes .

Kirby,
I think that we are going to hold an intervention - you are totally out of control.

Thanks. That’s a nice drop and in the color I’m looking for. I hoping to pick one up by the end of next month. Hopefully they will still be available.

I’m anxious to see what the color looks like in person . I think I’m going to like it . I’m going through the dealer I didn’t want to use because of an issue I had with them over the phone .
I called to let them know I’d placed an online order and they acted like I’d done something wrong . Told me it’d be a week before they would get it and 10-14 days before it’d be ready for pickup .
Im just going to wait until they contact me or until my order status online says it’s complete.

I felt the same way. Not really liking the MT from the picture on the site. It after watching a video walk around it looked better.
I’m really curious on your impression on the ride, especially how much more effort you think it is to get it up to and keep at a crossing pace. More so the drag of the tires.
Good luck and keep us updated.

If it turns out to be hard to get going and to maintain a decent speed , I’ll use it for neighborhood exercise rides . But I think with the 40 tooth chainring and 14-34 rear cog , getting it moving shouldn’t be a problem. The tires look like they should roll pretty good .
If all else fells , I’ll put a set of 26x2.5” Maxxis Hookworms on it .

That seems cheap!!!! Great deal you got. When we went to the Trek store on Saturday the fat tire bike they had there was 1499....... And I think that was marked down.... I should've taken a picture.
