Lots of cool cruisers in this thread, it's hard to pick a favorite.
Here is my 1995 Schwinn Classic Cruiser 100th anniversary edition snatched from the jaws of a CL ad.
Added the new quilted-look Schwinn seat, black kraton hand grips, and the Wald rear basket set-up.

HA! Be patient, I had really bad paint failure on the chain guard. Ended up stripping it down,
then....could not find my color paint anywhere on the shelves of auto-parts stores, always out of stock.
Just got it, via the brown truck guy, today.

Circa ~1958 Western Flyer.
Has the hub they used at the time, had Western grips, and had one very old, dry rotted, Western Flyer inner tube. It also came from a rural area where the Western Auto was probably the only thing in a 40 mile radius. Also found a picture on line showing same frame geometry, with original decals. So, with some hesitation, it's probably a Western, a base model, I presume.

I've lurked here a lot, but I've only ever posted a couple times...
anyway, I dragged this Murray BeachComber home from a yard sale 2 or 3 years ago and never did much with it. before pic:
inspired by a thread at RRB about 26-inch BMX-inspired builds, i finally got around to throwing some parts at it. this is where I'm at now:
i'm kinda digging it. makes me feel like a kid bombing around on my trash-day-rescue Huffy BMX 35 years ago...

Picked up a new Ctuz 3 off CL today. Bike appears to be last years model but was still in box albeit the box was tore up pretty bad. Assembly was a piece of cake, took a little effort to get shifter adjusted just right but it's a very nice bike. Think I still prefer my old ass Townie from a few post back...but I got a great deal on this one

Electra Orbit
Wish I'd taken some before pics of this bike. Found it on CL ravaged by salt air and used as a surf board mule by a young surf gal. Poor thing was in rough shape but started life as a Ladies Electra Orbit Limited Edition 3 speed. Lots of time and a little love made this bike worthy again. A real head turner in just about 3 weeks but I loved the challenge. Next project is a Electra Gypsy 3 speed also rescued from CL.

i put a basket on mine. trek cruiser classic, tall frame. think i might like one (frame) a little more stretched out but $100 off c-list was palatable.

I kind of picture the birth of beach cruiser starting back in 1933. That's when bikes started switching over to the 26 inch balloon tires. If I could figure out how to post photos I'd post a few of mine.

I like it. I've been wanting to do something like it. if you ever read "flight of the old dog", I want to try a bike version. got a cheapish mountain bike with disc brakes. I want to transfer the more modern parts to an older frame. just keeping an eye out for the right bike to play with the idea.

Its all about the cruise
First off let me say there is really an awesome collection of cruisers in this thread. Im glad to see the passion is still here..... I grew up with Huffy and Schwinn cruisers. Never really bothered for gears, derailleurs, cables etc lol. I ended up donating my bikes years ago for xmas charity.
But two years ago, I got a job cleaning a bar literally up the street from my house, so I became in need of a beach cruiser. Its much simpler than starting a car for that distance lol. Ohhh I didnt need a LBS model, no no no, but rather...yes lol, I did it, went to a box store and paid my 90 bucks for the below Huffy Cruiser lol.
Now certainly the Huffman company does not exist and we know where these are made. But I love it, I oil and lube it regularly, treat it like its a real bike and it reciprocates by actually acting like one. Its logged about 200 miles in the last two years because I do have nice riding trails where I live (Erie Canal etc). I ride it at night ( I have lights)
Its nowhere the quality of whats in this tread and I do have a Giant Simple single on order to add to the new collection lol. That will be here in the Early 2017. Im just waiting to see the color options...
But for now this is all I got and honestly...Lol. She cruises fine.

Picked up a couple of Electra Cruiser-1s for the wife and I.
I'm beginning to like riding the cruiser more than my Rockhopper!

Hey guys, this is my first post on here. I thought I would share the Giant Suede I have built up for my wife as a hybrid Mountain bike / cruiser... The idea was to give her something for when we go camping, that had the look and feel of her normal cruiser with better gearing for hills, a functional suspension fork, tyres that could handle fire roads and a mostly alloy build to minimise rust potential.
