Don't sell it man!! It's Deluxe and High Class.

Yeah and Super too! Just a wee bit dainty for me. I love the view of the little globe on the head tube sticker shows Germany as the center of world. Put a fair amount of work into this one and I'm pretty happy how it turned out. Had to consult the writings of Sheldon Brown to figure out what a Thompson bottom bracket was and that it's not compatible with anything else out there. Got about 4 hours labor and $100 in parts into it. I guess I just couldn't stand the thought of it going to the crusher.

I like that plaid seat. were they on ebay at one time? I may need to look for a sale on them along with the solid colors. I've only got a couple left for projects.

Yes those are the same tires! I cleaned them with Black Magic 120066 Bleche-White Tire Cleaner - got it on amazon. Spray it on and scrub, works like a dream.

I'm probably going to try and locate a single speed cruiser, with an integrated rear rack, to swap out my wheels on. I have an 8 speed Shimano Nexus IGH wheelset, and something like this is exactly what I'd luv to put together.

ENJOY!!!

After a closer look I think that chain's been painted not replaced and about three cans of yellow paint on top of that which is still a Wally World Girl's Huffy Cranbrook. Missing the billboard chainguard of course. I'll bet the basket and the faux leather grips were more than the $88 the bike sold for originally! What I'm really impressed with how they managed to paint the rims yellow but not the spokes or nipples???
Did they actually mask and tape off 72 individual spokes??? If so they get my "I'm not worthy" bow.

Nice but just a few critique's first love the skull I hope it lights up or makes noise, if not not so much. It's positioned too far back and would have looked better a few inches further forward. So you have this Animal House Deathmobile thing going on and POW a plaid seat??? WTF??? Then BAM little Johnnie's lunch box double WTF?? If you like it that's all that matters but it looks pretty conflicted. Looks like your Mom helped.

yah i am a pretty conflicted person, so i guess it makes sense my bike wouldn't be too consistent all the way around... guess i never really thought it through when i put it together... just kept adding to it as i went along...

I guess you're not worthy - I taped the nipples and spokes. And that IS a new chain. And ya - it's a Huffy, but there is great value in taking something ready for the trash heap and turning it into something beautiful, usable, and loads of fun. It's a sturdy bike and brings me a lot of pleasure. Oh, and the basket did not cost more than $88 - substantially less, in fact. Not sure if you are being mean or trying to be funny, but I love my little bike that I refurbished by myself. I have other, high end, expensive bikes, but this one is loads of fun.

Agreed not worthy at all. I had the patience to do that once and I know how time consuming and tedious it is. After reading my post again I can definitely see why you thought it may be mean spirited. Your before picture clearly showed a bike that had a can of black spray paint emptied on it. You did a great job are you kidding? I don't know where you shop but that basket is $50 around here and those leatherette grips go for $25 so I guess you're a great shopper as well. I meant no harm it's hard to believe that's the same bike as the before picture. You have skills to be sure. My favorite bike is also not the most expensive one. Apologies for my comments.

My comment was too harsh. I guess I liked the deathmobile motif so much in the front I had wished it would continue throughout the bike. What you came up with is original and out of the ordinary and I can appreciate that. It is definitely clean looking.

all good... a deathmobile motif would be cool to build... or replace my front skull with a pair of naked boobs and go for a leisuresuit larry vibe... hahahaha
