2012 Trek Wasabi
Picked up this bike for my wife from an ad on Facebook Marketplace. It was probably a little over priced at $130 but I think it will clean up and make a nice casual low-mileage cruiser. I'm going to repaint the fenders, polish and touch up the frame and replace some rusted bolts with stainless.. It
ll also need new pedals and hand grips, new tires and a lube job on the bearings. We took it out for a short ride today and she loved it.

Fenders off. I like it like this but she wants fenders.

Love the name.

Worth a million (metaphorically) if your wife loves it, and well worth $130. I'd hate to tell you how much I spent in $ and time to construct a bike my wife didn't like.

Schweinhund I must ask why you say do NOT paint the fenders. Actually I plan to keep the graphics and repaint the worn and rusted areas with the same color. Appreciate your input. Thank you.

That's cool Mr. Pickem. My wife's Trek Wasabi, as of this week, has new tires/tubes and painted fenders (masked off and clear coated the graphics). All the rusted nuts, bolts and wahers I replaced with stainless. It appears this bike was truly a beach cruiser. Salt had eaten anything not aluminum or stainless. 😎
