Don't have a 1930s bike but I sure could use a set of bars like the ones on that Hawthorne!

Here's a ~1938 Elgin Oriole that I've hopped-up. Came to me as a frame and fork, so not worried about originality/correctness. Built the wheels with 28h Ritchey rims, 2spd auto, cartridge front, db wheelsmith spokes, alloy nipples, Q&D paint, I re-did the vintage seat, and made the badge. Working on the chainguard next:
