Multi speed IGP hub recommendation for BIG GUYS
I have a Schwinn cruiser from the 90s with a Shimano 333 3 speed hub. I have found that the only source for parts is eBay and it is pretty sketchy.
The bike will be ridden by myself (I weigh over 250 lbs.) on mostly flat pavement, so I am looking for durability, easy of maintenance, parts availability and modest cost. I would prefer a coaster brake.
Any opinions on more than 3 speeds ?

Sturmey Archer has the best parts availability, pre-2000 were made in the UK and there is a massive parts supply available. The post 2000 are built in Taiwan, but parts seem to be readily available. I use vintage Sturmey-Archer AWC hubs with no problems. I have one bike with a Shimano Nexus 3 coaster on it, haven't had enough time with it yet to know how well it is going to stand up. I have one Sturmey Archer AW that is from around 1970 (non coaster) that has well over 35,000 miles on it.

Yea A S-A AW3 hub... you can get every piece for them.. The company makes 5 and 8 speed hubs too..
but the 3 speeds have been made for about 70+ years ,, the newer NIG design some what less.
New owner of the company in TW has broadened the product line ..
