Shimano 6700 rear shifter stuck on largest/inner cog
My Shimano 6700 rear shifter is stuck on the largest/inner cog (the easiest/lowest gear - just to be clear). It won't release the cable at all.
I've pulled the shifter off, removed the cover plate, and flushed it with WD40. The cable was not frayed at all, and even with the cover plate off the shifter, I can't force the drum that the cable attaches to to rotate at all. The latch lifts when I push the small lever, but the drum just won't rotate.
Any ideas?

Assuming the shifter is good, I'd expect extremely high cable tension.
Screw the rear barrel adjuster (RDER) in a couple turns and see if it will release.
