FSA Crankset a VERY tight fit in Ceramic PF30 BB - Normal?

I attempted to install a BBright FSA crankset and Ceramic BB on my BBright specific frame and the bearing clearance around the spindle was incredibly tight. So much so that one of the BB cups got stuck on the spindle. It turned into a big mess with the bearing popping out of the BB cup however I was able to install the whole thing by using a rubber mallet to slowly move the bearing flush against the spider, then I pressed the whole assembly into the BB cups that were in the frame. Haven't ridden the new crankset yet but I'm hoping there aren't any creaks or slipping. It was not a comforting process to install.

Has anyone heard of this problem before? Or is it even a problem? Is the clearance supposed to be that tight? From everything I've seen it's seemed liked slight resistance to get the spindle through the BB but nowhere near how much I was encountering.

This is basically the crankset and BB I was installing:

There's suppose to be and there's what's actually in front of you. We have noticed a bit of BB spindle and bearing ID miss fit when crossing brands. Both too sloppy a fit and very tight. Then there's the Bb shell often not being spot on dimensionally.

We often need to use rubber mallets to get a crank to seat in it's bearings. Andy.

Rubber mallets are often needed when installing or removing cranks. And yes, bearings often get stuck on axles. The best solution that I've found is to only use Shimano cranks plus the appropriate adaptors.

I know that FSA cranks don't fit well on non-FSA 24mm BB's. I tried to use one on a Shimano BB and I gave up, it was too tight. I've read that FSA has different tolerances on the diameter. Wouldn't surprise me that their 30mm are the same.

What's weird is that the BB and the crank were both FSA. They both came in the same box and were supposedly designed for one another.
