fourier brakes for the propel

Fourier lists two brake models on their website... the description for each is exactly the same.
One is almost twice the price of the other. I have emailed them asking what the difference is between the two models but have not heard from them.
Anybody here have a clue?

On the FOURIERS :: Products page, the expensive one claims to have titanium bolts. The cheap one says "3D forged" which I assume means "die-cast".

The other products on that page seem to follow the same "Titanium bolt" = expensive pattern.

It may be die cast, but that's not what forged means.

Poor ad copy.

The more expensive one has a Ti main bolt (vs. CroMo), Swisstop pads, and weighs 20 grams less.

Everything else looks the same...

I understand what forging means.

Copy writers use all kind of nice words that sound better than they really mean; I have seen "melt forged" for cheap brakes which were obviously cast aluminum, and the like. I am assuming that "3D forged" is a similar meaningless, but impressive, BS euphemism.

I heard back from Fourier...
they said the two main differences were CNC Vs. forged and the brake pads...
of course they mentioned that the giant-shimano race team uses the cnc version on their team bikes.
I will not be using the brake pads on my rims, so the pad makes zero difference to me...they show both weighing the same on the site..270 grams...so I just have to decide if CNC vs forged is of any real value to me...my main reason for getting them is to be able to run 25 tires...the trp brakes will not allow 25's.

well after a month of thinking about it, and their stock issues... I ordered the more expensive set...
I guess in a few weeks I will see if they were worth it or not.
